Pop up shops are a great way to meet your favorite Little Button Artists, as well as a way to see what they're working on! Here are June 2017's pop up shops:

06/03 12-7pm: Sheep To Skein Demonstration Day with Flying Bucket Farm

This is a free event, and is family friendly!
Ever wanted to learn how your yarn is made? Where it comes from? What's spinning? How is it done? Flying Bucket Farm is here to help! Anya will be showing us how things work on her amazing farm in Hemlock, NY!

The schedule for demonstrations is as follows:

1pm: carding/blending/diz
2pm: spinning
3pm: comb and hackle/diz
4pm: spinning
5pm: carding/blending/diz
6pm: spinning

06/04 12-4pm The Nerdy Octopus Pop Up Shop

The Nerdy Octopus specializes in snarky humor and beauty, offering a variety of unique cross stitch and papercraft pieces. It doesn’t matter if you need a housewarming or Father’s Day gift, or just want to spice up your own decor, The Nerdy Octopus has you covered!

 

06/10 12-4pm Crown Custom Craftworks Pop Up Shop

Nick Brown, the sole craftsperson behind Crown Custom Craftworks, combines modern & rustic aesthetics to design furniture and hand carved housewares. He focuses on using salvaged and foraged woods in creating each unique, individual piece

Stop in this afternoon to see what Nick has been working on and take something home!

06/11 12-4pm Bubbaloo Handmade Pop Up Shop



Stop by and see the work of Anna Kirkwood, the creative mind and mother of three that lives and works at Bubbaloo Farm in Honeyoye Falls, NY.

Anna's focus is on creating unique, colorful clothing and stuffed animals by up-cycling clothing and using vintage fabrics.

06/15 5-8pm South Wedge Sip & Shop

Come down to the South Wedge for Sip & Shop! This neighborhood event will guarantee you an evening of fun strolling around the wedge!

Start at Lux Lounge to get your wrist band, if you're within the first 25 customers you'll get a tote bag full of South Wedge Swag!

Between 5 and 6 pm, enjoy dinner at any of the South Wedge Restaurants, ensuring you've got a full tummy so you can do you best at Sipping and Shopping!

6-8pm is where the fun happens! Stop by any of the participating local boutiques and grab a cocktail to enjoy while you shop. Each shop will be having different cocktails and different specials, be sure to stop by each shop for the maximum experience.

After 8pm, enjoy music in Star Alley with cocktails on sale by the Lux Lounge Crew. Dance the night away with your fellow shoppers, you won't be able to wait for next month's festivities!

 

06/15 5-8pm Mmmily Handmade Featured Artist Pop Up Shop

This month’s local featured artist at Little Button Craft & Press is South Wedge resident, Emily Bellinger, creator of Mmmily Handmade. She will be hosting a unique pop-up event during the South Wedge Sip & Shop, Thursday June 15th, from 5-8pm. Alongside her ever popular textile goods including zipper pouches, bags, potholders, and oven-mitts; Emily’s table will feature a selection of house plants and cacti. As a newly Master of Fine Arts graduate and adjunct professor at Rochester Institute of Technology, Emily continues to explore various techniques of contemporary fiber and print media. She has exhibited her work in many regional exhibitions including the Memorial Art Gallery’s 30 Under 30 show, and a recent solo exhibition of quilts at the Rochester Brainery. Emily also works as a commissioned quilter. Her quilts warm the homes of many private residences throughout the United States. In her free time Emily can be found hanging out with her two cats and misting her indoor garden. So be sure to stop by Little Button Craft & Press for the Sip & Shop event, grab a drink and browse Emily’s handmade goodies!

06/17 12-4pm Cire D'abeille SkinCare Pop Up Shop

Little Button Craft will host a unique pop-up event featuring local Fairport based maker Ashley Monney on Saturday June 17th, from 12-4 pm.

Cire d'Abeille Skin Care Products started as a DYI by Ashley Monney in May 2016. She wanted to create a lip balm that was free of parabens, artificial colors, and chemicals. Her lip balms contain naturally based ingredients. Cire d'Abeille has been recognized by the Coalition for Consumer Information (Leaping Bunny) as cruelty-free. Her products have never, nor will ever, be tested on animals.

After her friends, co-workers and family tried the prototype of lip balm, they encouraged her to make more and start selling them at local businesses. Monney partners with local businesses by using their products in her lip balms. She uses beeswax and honey from local Upstate NY beekeepers. Monney works with Union Place Coffee Roasters, Black Button Distilling, Casa Larga Winery, The Winery at Marjim Manor,Belhurst Castle and Winery, Deer Run Winery, 810 Meadworks, OSB Ciderworks, Dolce Cupcakery, The Waffle Factory as well as other wineries from western upstate New York.

Cire d'Abeille Skin Care products has branched out from lip balms, to also produce sugar scrubs, body lotions, and salt soaks.

06/24 Kim Best Creative Pop Up Shop

@kimbestcreative is all about special lettering, personalized gifts, and unique cards. Each piece is inspired by nature and city skylines, from the minute details of a leaf's skeleton to the shapely silhouette of city buildings at sunset.

Kim's heart behind every piece is for the receiver of the art to feel loved, with every handmade card, art print, and crafty decor she creates.

Kim loves all things turquoise, going on "tea dates," and working as a board-certified music therapist.
