September 2019 Featured Artist: Stefan Fella
Hello, my name is Stefan Fella and I am a local artist from Rochester NY. I am very excited to be Little Button’s Featured artist this month. One of my main forms of artwork is tattooing. I have been tattooing over 6 years and currently work at Have Hope Tattoo and Gallery. I enjoy doing a lot of different styles from illustrative traditional to realistic black and gray.
I have been working on a project called “Hoodlings” which consists of a wearable toy paired to a mobile game. It is my dream to see Hoodlings touch the lives of people all around the world.
In my personal time I really enjoy spending it with the ones I love. I have a wonderful girlfriend who also tattoos. In our spare time we enjoy playing with our dog or playing Super Smash Bros!
Digital art has always been one of my favorite forms of art making. I really enjoy the convenience and amount of adaptability that working on an iPad allows. I hold a big appreciation for stickers. I think there is something special about them. I love making them, collecting them, and seeing them places. Stickers are a way for people to connect simply through imagery.
Rochester has always been my home and I want to see it flourish as much as possible. I enjoy making artwork for business far and wide. For a company to allow me to make them a design means the absolute world to me. I really enjoy taking my own personal spin on what they are best known for. I have a lot of influences when it comes to making art. Skateboarding, video games, music and other illustrative artists have a big inspiration on my own artwork.
Skateboarding has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a kid. I was lucky enough to be able to design a skateboard deck for two very renowned skate shops in the Rochester area.
Watercolor is an art form I fell in love with in college. I had a professor who referred to it as “the poor mans paint” due to its ability to come back to life after being left out to dry. I always thought that aspect was very beneficial and it kept me using the medium more than acrylic.
