Meet John Ballou of Jack Bear Stamps

John “Jack” Ballou grew up in a family of crafty and artsy people north of the Adirondacks in New York. In 2003, he moved back to Rochester and started participating in a hobby called letterboxing (www.letterboxing.org, www.atlasquest.com). He needed a rubber stamp. He wanted one of a bear paw. He combed all the craft stores in the area to no avail. He decided to carve one himself.
