April 2023 Featured Artist: Michael Maltese of MJM Artist

Hi everyone! My name is Michael Maltese, also known as MJM Artist. I am a local LGBTQ artist in Rochester. I am shy, so I typically speak through my art. Art is an outlet for me to express myself and my passion. I specialize in custom portraits of people and pets, so if you are interested in something please feel free to contact me!

I don’t like to limit myself when creating art so you will see I use a variety of mediums. Watercolor, acrylic paint, colored pencils, and markers are just a few mediums I enjoy working with. Linocut Printmaking has also been a passion of mine. I love how I am able to produce multiples of handmade prints of my original work, and print them on many different surfaces.

Aside from art, you can find me tending to my houseplants, collecting crystals and oddities, and nerding out on my Nintendo Switch. All of these things influence my style and artwork in some way shape or form. I am so excited and grateful to share my passion of art with the world! :)
