November 2020 Artist of the Month: Samantha Mclarney of May and Birch
Hi! It's Samantha, the proud owner of @mayandbirch . Born and raised in Greece, NY, I now live on the East side of Rochester with my husband and our three daughters who serve as my inspiration everyday.
I have been making/designing things my whole life. Creating things has always made m feel whole. I have a background in Graphic and CAD textile design. In 2009 I started a small, custom stationery business in my in-home studio while staying at home to watch our three daughters.
With the versatility of my own custom designs and equipment, my business evolved into May and Birch a few years ago.
May and Birch specializes in custom designed pieces such as wooden ornaments, jewelry, maps, prints and locally-inspired pieces specific to Rochester, surrounding areas, schools and lakes. I design, print and cut, everything in-house.
May and Birch brings a new level of joy into my life everyday. I have enjoyed meeting so many new clients, makers and artists whom have now become such great friends.
I feel so fortunate to sell my pieces at @littlebuttoncraft . The owner, Shelby, makes everyone feel like family and has been a huge supporter of not only me, but of the whole arts community! Thank YOU Shelby for being so amazing.
